Spirit of America at the Patriot Center

Soldiers in period uniforms will be reenacting key moments from the Revolutionary War to current operations. These reenactments feature a unique perspective of American history.  The show includes battle scenes, short periods of simulated gunfire, and performances by the U.S. Army Band Pershings Own, the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment - The Old Guard, which encompasses The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the Caisson Platoon, the Commander-in-Chiefs Guard and the U.S. Army Drill Team.

Alexandria Symphony Orchestra at Rachel M. Schlessinger Concert Hall and Arts Center
The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra is pleased to be opening its 2009-2010 season with guest pianist Carlos Rodriguez and guest violinist Leonid Sushansky. The season is "Inspired by Nature," and during the Sept. 26 concert, Sushansky will honor us and Mother Nature by performing Vivaldi's Summer and Autumn from The Four Seasons. The orchestra will also perform Milhaud's Symphony No. 12 Rurale, and Respighi's Pines of Rome. Rodriguez will close the evening with Gershwin's Piano.
