Dr. Suzanne Kim Doud Galli

Dr Suzanne Kim Doud Galli, a facial plastic surgeon with offices in downtown DC and Reston, finds that less-invasive procedures done in the office are becoming increasingly popular. Time-starved Washingtonians find the short recovery time from browlifts, eyelifts, chin implants and mini-facelifts done under local anesthesia quite appealing. The lower impact procedures result in less bruising and swelling. Patients can enjoy a fresher, more youthful appearance while getting back to their everyday routines quickly.

Dr. Doud Galli is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery. She received her undergraduate degree at Smith College and her medical degree and doctorate in molecular biology at the State University of New York. She specializes in facial cosmetic surgery and has expertise in Asian rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty. Facial rejuvenation is one aspect of her practice.

Beside surgical procedures, she offers medical skin care and injectables to improve wrinkles and facial contour. Medical skin care is aimed at improving the sequela of sun exposure - including hyperpigmentation, fine lines and textural changes – through the use of various creams, lotions and gels. Also available are a wide range of chemical peels that improve the surface of the skin. Glycolic peels are superficial peels which help eliminate fine lines by consistently removing the top layer of skin. The strength of the peel can be increased for deeper penetration. As the skin regenerates and heals, the lines of the face are noticeably reduced.

Injectable fillers are another option in facial rejuvenation as they can be used to contour the face with the added bonus of immediate results. Currently, human collagen and hyaluronic acid (Restylane) are available to treat fine lines and deeper wrinkles. They can help shape the lower half of the face by plumping up the deeper depressions around the cheeks and chin. They can also be used to shape lips.

She has a special interest in nasal surgery and combines functional and cosmetic procedures to enable the patient to breathe better, as well as look better. Many of her patients have had previous procedures and come to her for revision rhinoplasty.

Her goal is to establish a more natural look while correcting issues such as mouth breathing and snoring. She has developed a highly successful technique for nasal tip augmentation for Asian patients, which results in a more refined appearance while maintaining ethnic features. She is experienced in Asian eyelid surgery for the aging eyelid and also for double fold. She offers several different types of procedures for double eyelid surgery and revision double eyelid surgery with the purpose of creating a natural looking crease, especially with regard to eye symmetry.
