Taste of Bethesda

The 20th annual Taste of Bethesda, Bethesda's famous food and music festival, brings 50 restaurants and four stages of entertainment to Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle. Each year, more than 40,000 attendees sample the delicious restaurants, enjoy the live entertainment and visit the kid's corner for
face painting and cookie decorating.

Richmond Italian Street Festival

Richmond's Original Italian Street Festival returns for its 5th year. This exciting two day celebration of all things Italian is now at the beautiful horticultural gardens of Richmond Raceway Complex.  Authentic Italian food from some of the best restaurants in Richmond, along with Italian wines and beers. Strolling musicians, authentic Bingo and a large kids area will keep the whole family entertained for the weekend.

Military History Weekend

Join us for a weekend of history and family fun. Kid's activities include learning how drill like a Revolutionay War Soldier, free model make-n-take, free toy soldier painting, castle building and more. Come see daily shows put on by Medieval Fantasies Co. who will be putting on various Medieval W.A.R. (Weapons and Armour Re-enactment) demonstrations and generally strolling about the venue in full suits of armor. They have promised demonstrations of real weapons and their effects demonstrated on ferocious pieces of fruit. There will be over 100 displays and vendors including history publihers, reeenacotrs, models, wargames, toy soldiers, sutlers, antiques, military art, militaria, uniforms, GI Joes and more. There will be a military artifact evaluation like "Antiques Road Show" where you can bring in an item and have it evaluated.

Yorktown Victory Celebration

Revolutionary War military and artillery demonstrations and special interpretive programs at the Yorktown Victory Center mark the 228th anniversary of America's momentous victory at Yorktown on October 19, 1781. Visitors of all ages can enroll in "A School for the Soldier," a special interpretive program, to determine if they would have been fit for service in General Washington's army. Special programs also held at the Yorktown Battlefield, administered by the National Park Service. Townwide events on Yorktown Day, October 19, include a parade and patriotic ceremonies.

Washington International Horse Show

An equestrian tradition since 1958, the Washington International Horse Show brings top horses and riders from the U.S. and abroad, including Olympic champions, to the nation's capital to compete for more than $400,000 in prize money and championship titles. About 500 horses participate in show jumping, hunters, equitation and dressage events during the six-day show. Special exhibitions, shopping in more than 50 specialty boutiques and new this year, Washington's World of the Horse on Sunday
afternoon, round out this family-friendly show.
